Good morning, ladies! Despite it being a Monday, I'm feeling happy and excited! It's Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge, and I can't wait to check out everyone's red nails!
For my Red Nails, I decided to do a tape mani. I used Wet N Wild Megalast in I Red A Good Book, an awesome red Jelly, as my base color, then added chevrons using scotch tape and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Orly Liquid Vinyl. This was the first time I've done actual tape Chevrons, and they came out much better than I expected.
I did have a hard time getting decent pics of this mani, though. Could have something to do with trying to take photos with my eyes half closed at 2 am!
I'm really happy with how this turned out! Not bad for my first Chevrons right? Although that little ding in my ring finger is driving me nuts! I have a bad habit of whacking the table as soon as I finish applying top coat. It never fails!

I've been checking out I Red A Good Book for a while but never picked it up because I thought it was just another red, but a jelly? Now I think I might have to just go get it!! Love the chevron! I love chevrons but mine usually face the other way lol I need to try this out!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a creme to, but it's actually a fairly opaque jelly. I'm dying to try a jelly sammitch with it! I need to try chevrons that face the other way next. I thought about it with this mani, but my hands kept placing the tape this way, so I rolled with it. Hehehehe
DeleteGreat job! Chevrons drive me crazy. They never seem to line up for me. Always off center! I need more practice
ReplyDeleteI think I lucked out with centering. They're not perfectly centered, but they're not too far off. I was surprised that I didn't end up with off center Chevrons.
DeleteEvery time I start to try a chevron I throw something. I figure its a hazard. Everyone is all linked up! Thanks so much for hosting, I have lots of new blogs to follow & read!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I thought I was the only one that throws things when a mani goes awry! Hehehehe. You're too awesome!
DeleteSO cute! I'll have my post up in just a bit!
