Hello ladies! It's Wednesday! Halfway through the week!
The other night I had this mad urge to wear one of my purple jellies. I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I just love the sheer yet still saturated with color look of a good jelly polish. I have several purple jellies, but several of them are very much alike. I've shown Nfu Oh 51 a couple times now, so I settled on one of the many purple baby flakey jellies in my stash, Spoiled by Wet N Wild Checkin' Into Rehab.
Checkin' Into Rehab is a bright saturated purple jelly with coppery mini flakes. It's very close to Sally Hansen Purple Pizzaz and Sinful Colors Daddy's girl, but the flakies aren't as dense. The color however, is more vibrant. She's pretty sheer, so be prepared for multiple coats unless you're wearing underwear. I chose to wear her alone since I wanted that semi-sheer jelly look. I love the look of this polish and can see myself wearing this baby again.
As with most purples, this girl was a PITA to photograph. IRL, she's very vibrant, almost neon. These pics are very close to true color, but I couldn't quite catch that vibrance. Also, please excuse my cuticles! I did finally use my cuticle remover last night, but since it's summer and they're slightly dry I'm going as long as I can without using it.
1 coat OPI Nail Envy Matte
1 coat Instant Artificials Base Coat
4 coats Checkin' Into Rehab
1 coat Seche Vite
Tell me that isn't gorgeous!! Love love love!! I actually hesitated when it came time to remove this.
I have zero complaints here. Wet N Wild really nailed it with this one. She flowed smoothly onto the nail, stayed where I put it, and zero dragging, bubbling, balding or streaking. Out of all the jelly flakies I own, this one has the best formula hands down.
The only issue with application with this girl is that pesky brush. It really is like painting your nails with a mop! There's just no way to get a clean line with it, so be prepared for some clean-up. This polish is also very sheer, so she definitely needs a minimum of 2-3 coats for opacity. I used 4 since I wanted some of the sheerness of a jelly, but didn't want a whole lotta vnl. If you layer this, you'll be able to get away with 1-2 coats depending on how dense you want the flakies. I did have to fish around to get a good amount of flakies, otherwise they're pretty light and scattered.
I have to say I am a big fan of the Spoiled line (other than that brush!), and Checkin' Into Rehab does not disappoint. What do you guys think of this color? Would you risk the mop brush for this one?
Have an awesome "hump day" and thanks for stopping by!
